McFarland Transfers from UF Football Program
The number has grown to six players who have left the Gator football program since Will Muschamp was named Florida head coach. And the latest casuality is redshirt freshman tight end Michael McFarland, opting to transfer from UF on a joint decision between himself and Muschamp. Muschamp stated, "Michael and I have come to the conclusion that it is in his best interest to transfer from the University of Florida. We wish him the best as he continues his career somewhere else." The 6-foot-6, 235-pound tight end dressed for three Florida games last season, but did not see playing time. Back in 2010, Rivals.com ranked McFarland as the 24th best tight end in the class. The Gators are now left with two true tight ends on the roster with Jordan Reed and A.C. Leonard.
