Team USA Still Celebrating Victory, But Unfinished Work Remains
Published July 12th, 2011
It's about time for Team USA to look past Abby Wambach's game-changing header and focus on tomorrow's game. This past Sunday at the Women's World Cup in Dresden, Germany, Megan Rapinoe delivered the perfect strike to Wambach, who put the ball in the back of the net to tie the game. That led the Americans to beat Brazil in penalty kicks 5-3. But the job isn't finished, with USA only in the semifinals against France tomorrow. Team USA last won the World Cup in 1999.
