Meyer Says Thanks, But No Thanks
Published November 11th, 2011
Urban Meyer may return to coaching at some point, but the former Gators national champion head coach indicated it won't be with Penn State next year. In response to the Nittany Lions first head coaching vacancy since 1966, Meyer released a statement essentially saying he is not interested in the job. Through his current employer ESPN, Meyer said:
"I am very happy with my role at ESPN. I have no plans to return to coaching at this time."
Meyer left Florida in December of 2010, citing health concerns and a desire to spend more time with his family.
