Gators Mickey Marotti Leaving to Join Meyer at OSU
Published December 5th, 2011
The poaching has begun, as Gators strength and conditioning coach Mickey Marotti is leaving for colder pastures in Columbus, Ohio to join former Gators and future Ohio State coach Urban Meyer's football staff. Marotti was brought to UF by Meyer back in January 2005 and was a key component to building strong and conditioned Florida football teams on the way to two national championships. Gators head coach Will Muschamp said he would not rush into making a quick hire, as he views the position a critical one to fill due to extensive contact with players during the off-season.
