Published February 22nd, 2012
The Florida Gators had Bethune-Cookman's number in the past. Apparently, the Wildcats didn't get the memo. The top team in the nation got all they could handle from the Wildcats, pulling out a nail-biting 8-6 victory, improving to 26-0 lifetime in the series. Preston Tucker delivered a bases-loaded RBI single in the eighth inning to give Florida the lead, Mike Zunino hit solo home runs in the second and seventh innings, and junior Austin Maddox picked up his first victory of the season, throwing two scoreless innings to fend off the team from Daytona Beach.
