Gators Hit Threes Early, Hang On Late to Beat South Carolina

Published February 3rd, 2012

The Florida Gator basketball team ran its winning streak to six games against South Carolina Thursday night, beating the Gamecocks 74-66 in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. Florida built a 36-19 lead in the first half, but the Gamecocks closed the gap in the second half, getting all the way back to 56-50 before Bradley Beal turned the momentum back in the Gators favor with a thundering dunk. Kenny Boynton led the way for the Gators (18-4, 6-1) with 24 points. Florida now turns its attention to Vanderbilt, whom the Gators will host Saturday afternoon.
