Gators Out-Toughed Against Tennessee, Lose 75-70
Florida basketball had a chance at revenge. Instead, the Gators missed a golden opportunity. Florida welcomed Tennessee to the O'Connell Center, backed by a 19-game home winning streak. But the Volunteers repeated the result earlier this season in Knoxville, leading the game for all but the opening minute in a dominating 75-70 victory over Florida, snapping the streak and dropping the Gators to 19-6 on the season. The Gators shot 11-29 from three point range, but four of those connections came in the final 30 seconds of the game when the outcome was already in hand. The loss puts Florida at 7-3 in SEC play, still second in the conference behind Kentucky. The Gators have four road games and two home games left on the schedule before the SEC Tournament in March.
