Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team Inspiration for All
Published February 13th, 2012
When wounded veterans walk into a room, it's easy to see they've given everything on the field of battle to protect our country. For the newest group of veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan since the attacks of September 11th, they've been given a new chance to look past their so-called limitations on the field of play. The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball team was created nearly a year ago by David Van Sleet, giving young, athletic veterans a chance to recapture the joy of playing sports. The whole team is made up solely of amputees, and only play able-bodied competitors to show the sacrifice and resiliency of our veteran military members.
