Buchholz Track and Field Wins 11th-Straight Boys County Title

The Buchholz boys and Gainesville High girls were the big winners at the Alachua County track and field championships, winning the team county titles, but there were plenty of individual awards as well on Wednesday night at Oak Hall. GHS sophomore Kendric Young put on a remarkable display on the boys side, winning the 200 meters and 400 meters, while finishing second in the 100 meter dash-where he lost to the Bobcats' Antonio James by one-hundredth of a second. Meanwhile Eastside's Dacarian Boyd won two county titles, taking the long lump with a leap of 23' 1 1/4" as well as a win in the 110 meter hurdles (14.37). On the girls side, Santa Fe senior Jalai Jenkins was a multi-event winner, taking home the discuss and shot put championships.
