Published March 17th, 2012
The top-ranked Florida Gator baseball team struggled in their SEC opener against visiting Vanderbilt for about four innings. Then, the bats came to the party. Florida used a five-run fifth inning to take a 5-2 lead and never looked back, beating the Commodores 10-2. The win marked the Gators 15th in a row, a new school record, and the fourth time in five tries the Gators opened up conference play with a win under head coach Kevin O'Sullivan. Hudson Randall got his third win of the season, going 6.2 innings, and matching a season-best six strikeouts on the evening.
