Zunino's Two HRs Lead Gator Charge to 11th Straight Victory, 4-2 Win over FGCU
Published March 10th, 2012
Junior Florida catcher Mike Zunino came to the Gators rescue, twice, in a surprisingly tight win against Florida Gulf Coast 4-2. The Gators were down 2-0 in the bottom of the sixth when Zunino connected on his first of two two-run homers in the game. His second long ball came in the eighth inning with the game tied at 2-2 with two outs. He also threw out the potential go-ahead run for the Eagles in the top half of the eighth when Brandon Bednar tried to steal second. The top-ranked Florida baseball team picked up its 11th straight victory and look to wrap up another series this Saturday at 4pm.
