Gator Softball Shut Down by Kentucky's Bell in 3-1 Loss
Published April 30th, 2012
The No. 2/4 Florida Gator softball team knew Kentucky's pitcher well. And if there was any doubt how good she was, she proved it again on Sunday afternoon. Wildcats' Chanda Bell held Florida to one run and got help from teammate Rachel Riley with a bases-clearing three-RBI double to left field, turning a tight game into a 5-1 Kentucky win over Florida. It's the first SEC series loss this season for the Gators, and more disappointing it came against a Kentucky team that is still under .500 in conference play. Florida will try to rebound before a showdown of SEC powerhouses this Thursday as the Gators go to Tuscaloosa and face No. 4/3 Alabama.
