Gator Softball Shuts Out Kentucky 5-0, Even Series
Published April 29th, 2012
No. 2/4 Florida softball got back on track against a mediocre SEC opponent, avenging Friday's loss to Kentucky by blanking the Wildcats 5-0 to even the series. Senior Michelle Moultrie was honored before the first pitch, and started out the game with a solo home run to give Florida a 1-0 lead. Freshman Bailey Castro followed with a two-run homer, and the Gators never looked back. Freshman pitcher Lauren Haeger shut down Kentucky, striking out seven in a complete game shutout. Florida will look to take the series in the rubber game Sunday at 12pm.
