Gators Cap Great Weekend at Florida Relays
The 68th annual Pepsi Florida Relays was a huge success for the Florida Gators, claiming eight victories through two days of competition, four for the men and four for the women. Darshay Davis, Alishea Usery, Lanie Whittaker, and Cory McGee took the women's 1600 sprint medley relay (3:44.05) with the second-fastest time in school history. Davis also set a personal-best in the women's 200 meters (23.03), ranked fifth all-time in Florida's record books.
Omar Craddock earned second in the men's triple jump (16.71m), but set the top all-conditions mark in the NCAA this season. But Saturday was highlighted with the Gator men's 4x100 meter relay, led by sprinter Jeff Demps. Demps started the first leg, and followed to teammates Tony McQuay, Leonardo Seymore, and Dedric Dukes, running the best time for a college program of the day (38.91)
