Kytra Hunter NCAA Vault Champion, Other Gator Results
The Florida Gators narrowly missed out on its first ever gymnastics team national championship, but that didn't deter its gymnasts from competing for event titles on Sunday. Freshman sensation Kytra Hunter added an NCAA Vault Championship to her impressive resume, claiming the title with a 9.875. Hunter is the fifth to claim multiple NCAA titles as a freshman, the other the NCAA All-Around title earned on Friday. Teammate Marissa King finished fifth on the vault with a 9.7875.
On the floor exercise, Hunter posted an impressive 9.925, good for fourth place. Junior Ashanee Dickerson tied for sixth with a 9.90.
The Gators also placed on the uneven bars, with Mackenzie Caquatto and Alaina Johnson rounding out the last two spots in the event, with a 9.825 and 9.4875, respectively.
