Five out of Six Gators Singles Advance in NCAA Tournament

After coming off of their sixth national championship in program history, the two-time defending champ Florida Gator women's tennis team kept it up as the NCAA Singles Tournament started in Athens, GA. Allie Will, Lauren Embree, Joanna Mather, and Sofie Oyen each advanced in straight sets to the round of 32.
On the men's side of the tennis court, two out of three Gator players advanced to Round Two. No. 42 Bob van Overbeek upset No. 8 Sebastian Fanselow from Pepperdine 6-3, 6-4. No. 53 Nassim Slilam also advanced with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Matja Pecotic out of Princeton. The lone Florida loss came from No. 48 Tripper Carleton, who was swept in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 by Luke Somen from Virginia Tech.
