Gator Men's Golf Tied for 2nd After First Round of NCAA Championships

After round one at the NCAA Championships at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California, the 18th ranked Gator men's golf team is tied for the second best score after shooting a 285 as a team, good for 4-over on the tournament. Tyler McCumber led the way for Florida with a 3-under par, good for second place on the medalist list. Alabama leads the way as a team with a 1-over par, while a couple other schools from the Sunshine State are representing well. FSU, North Florida, and UCF are all tied for sixth at 6-over par. Rounds two and three are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. From there, the top eight teams will advance to match play for a possible bid at a national championship.
