Gator Softball Bats Hope to Wake Up in NCAA Regional
The Gator softball team took their fifth Top-5 seed in the NCAA Tournament, but if the ranking wants to match the play, the dormant bats must come alive in the Gainesville Regional. Florida hosts a Sunshine State regional, with FGCU, USF, and UCF coming into Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium. Florida faces the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles on Friday at 6pm for the second time this year, winning the first meeting 5-0. They'll most likely face Atlantic Sun pitcher of the year and former Santa Fe Raider Shelby Morgan. Morgan has won four-straight games, including two for the Eagles to win their conference tournament. Meanwhile, the Gators offense has been stagnant, scoring only four runs in the past three games at the SEC Tournament. Florida went 2-2 against the three teams in the NCAA Regional.
