Gator Softball Slips Past LSU 1-0
Brittany Mack had the LSU Tigers thinking upset over the Florida Gator softball team in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals. But Florida's first hit of the game broke up her no-no bid and turned out to be the difference in the ballgame. Mack held florida hitless until the fifth inning when Gator freshman Sami Fagan connected on a bouncing RBI-single up the middle. The play scored Briana Little and proved to be the lone run of the game as Florida beat LSU 1-0. Gator freshman pitcher Lauren Haeger matched her Tiger counterpart with a two-hitter of her own and added eight strikeouts in the victory. Florida will play Tennessee in semifinal action on Friday at 3pm-Eastern. With a win over the Lady Volunteers, the Gators would advance to the SEC Tournament title game for the first time since 2009.
