Gators Earn No. 1 National Seed in NCAA Baseball Tournament
Published May 28th, 2012
The Florida Gator baseball team had earned a top-eight national seed in the past three years, and this season was no different. For the first time since the NCAA implemented the "national seeding", the Gators see themselves atop the field as the No. 1 overall seed. Florida will host Georgia Tech, College of Charleston, and Bethune-Cookman in the Gainesville regional starting on Friday.
Florida State earned the No. 3 national seed and will host Mississippi State, Samford, and UAB in the Tallahassee Regional.
Surprisingly, Miami (FL) earned regional hosting duties, and will welcome UCF, Missouri State, and Stony Brook to Coral Gables for the weekend.
