Published May 11th, 2012
Day 1 of The Players Championship featured the usual bumps, bruises and baths on hole 17-the signature hole at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra. Angel Caberera hit three straight shots into the water to go from even par to +6 in one hole, but Ian Poulter managed to birdie the hole to help finish at seven-under par, and take a share of the lead into day 2 on Friday.
