Luck of the Irish: Eddie Woods Has Broken Another Kentucky Derby Contender
Published May 2nd, 2012
Irish-born trainer/manager Eddie Woods will watch the Kentucky Derby from the comfort of his Ocala home. But few in attendence at this year's run for the roses will have as much connection with one of the contenders as Woods. Woods broke Union Rags as a yearling at his stables, and now Woods feels like Union Rags has a legitimate shot to win the Kentucky Derby this weekend. A win wouldn't be the first for Woods, who also broke 2008 Derby and Preakness Stakes champion Big Brown.
