Ocala Holds Southern Junior Rodeo Association Finals
Published May 18th, 2012
The Southern Junior Rodeo Association invaded Ocala in its final stop of the season, with kids from ages 5 to 14 competing in First Performance on Friday, and Second Performance on Saturday between 2pm-6pm. Junior ropers and riders earned points throughout the season in different categories, and will compete for prizes worth up to $60,000. In over 30 years of the SJRC's existence, at least 10 have made it to the National Finals Rodeo, with many earning scholarships to college through the sport. It also gives kids the chance to build skill, talent and character doing something they love.
