The 12th annual Jeffrey Meldon TV20 Scholar Athlete Banquet was a chance to gather the best and brightest around North Central Florida and recognize them for their achievements in athletics as well as in the classroom. Over 30 athletes were in attendance at the Hilton UF Conference Center and received plaques to commemorate their weekly awards, but only two would be named the Scholar Athletes of the Year. The male winner was North Marion's Latroy Pittman, who early enrolled at UF and has gotten rave reviews from Gator football coach Will Muschamp in the spring. The female winner was PK Yonge's Niya Johnson, who signed an athletic scholarship with the current women's basketball national champion Baylor Bears.
