We're Number One! Gator Lacrosse Top Seed in NCAA Tournament
In only its third year of existence, the Gator lacrosse team keeps amazing at the achievements they've accomplished in the infant stages of the young program. After claiming its first-ever ALC tournament championship crown, Florida followed up that milestone with another on Sunday night. The NCAA selection committee awarded the Gators the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship, and Florida will prepare to host Albany in the first round on May 12th, 1pm at Donald R. Dizney stadium. Florida is making its second straight trip to the NCAA field of sixteen, with last year seeing the Gators advance as a four-seed to the elite eight. The committee gave Florida recognition as the only team to beat the number one team in the country (Northwestern) twice, and earn both a conference regular season championship and a tournament title.
