Florida Hoops To Open Season vs. Georgetown in Navy/Marines Corp Classic

Jacksonville mayor Alvin Brown and Secretary of Navy Ray Mabus announced in a conference Friday that the Florida Gators basketball team will play their first game of the season against the Georgetown Bulldogs in the inaugural Navy/Marines Corp Classic. Gators head coach Billy Donovan says they are honored to take part in such a special event. The Gators and the Bulldogs last met on March 24, 2006 when the Gators claimed a 57-53 victory in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament.
