Johnson, Fontana Leave Florida Early For Pro Baseball
Published June 27th, 2012
The Florida Gator baseball team lost two important pieces of its recent success to Major League Baseball on Tuesday, as both pitcher Brian Johnson and Shortstop Nolan Fontana signed with their respective teams. Johnson was a 1st round draft pick with the Boston Red Sox, while Fontana was a 2nd round choice by the Houston Astros. Both players just finished their junior seasons, and as such, give up their final year of college eligibility.
