Veteran Brian Donarski Helps Gainesville Fisher House, Inspires Others
Published June 14th, 2012
Brian Donarski, known as "Ski", never really liked golf growing up. But after he was injured in combat after hitting an anti-tank mine in 2005, Jim Estes from the Salute Military Golf Association convinced him to give the sport another try. Ski had lost his vision in his right eye, had brain bruising in his frontal and rear lobes, but the rehab of hitting golf balls changed his life. Since then, Ski has become one of the best wounded warrior golfers in the country. He recently visited North Central Florida for the Gainesville Fisher House Charity Golf Tournament and welcomes any opportunity where he can share his story to other wounded veterans as well as the public to hopefully help funding for a great cause like the Fisher House.
