Mike Zunino has placed his name in the pantheon of the Florida Gator baseball record books, but his most recent accomplishment won't be fully realized-or rewarded-until after the current season. Zunino was selected 3rd overall in the Major League Baseball Draft Monday, making the Gators junior catcher the highest player ever drafted from Florida. One other current Gator (Brian Johnson) and two Gator signees (Lewis Brinson, Lance McCullers) were also taken in the first round.
