Gators to Compete in Olympics
Current and former Florida Gator athletes are joining Olympic teams all over the world. Nine Gators will represent team USA, Australia, Haiti and other countries in the London games this summer. One of the nine Gators is reigning world champion Christian Taylor, who will represent USA in the triple-jump. And Kerron Clement fought his way to third place in the trials to ensure his spot on the Olympic team. Clement will represent the US in the 400 meter hurdles. Other Gators going to London this summer are Will Claye, Shara Proctor, Genevieve LaCaze, Novlene Williams-Mills, Kemal Mesic and Moise Joseph. Gators track and field head coach and assistant coach for team USA, Mike Holloway, says he is proud to see so many Gators in the Olympics.
