GAINESVILLE - Using twitter as his method of announcement, Tampa Wharton HS senior Vernon Hargreaves III offered his verbal committment to the University of Florida on Thusday, giving Will Muschamp one of the most highly touted players of the Class of 2013.

Hargreaves is a five-star defensive back who is listed by scout.com as 5-foot-11 and 181 pounds, with a 4.5 40-yard dash. 

He is listed as the number three overall prospect in the country.
