Torres Falls Short At US Olympic Swim Trials

The remarkable Olympic career of Dara Torres came to an end Monday night in Omaha, Ne. as the former Gator failed to qualify for a spot on the 2012 Olympic Games roster. Torres, 45, finished 4th in the 50 meter freestyle final, .09 behind the second-place finisher. Torres has won a women's swimming record-tying 12 medals from her 5 games (4 gold, 4 silver, 4 bronze), which started in Los Angeles in 1984- but Torres says she will not seek another Olympic roster.
