US Women's Soccer for Gold
Published July 25th, 2012
The United States women's soccer team may feel like they have some unfinished business to attend to. In their last major international tournament, the Americans fell short of their goal when they lost in a shootout against Japan in the 2011 Women's World Cup Final. Now, with the past behind them, the Americans are on a quest for an Olympic gold medal. The Americans started group play against France, and after falling behind 2-0 early, former Gator Gabby Wambach scored in the 19th minute. Team USA won 4 to 2 and they will take on Columbia next this Saturday.
