Countdown to Kickoff: Georgia
Gainesville- The Georgia Bulldogs football team made a run to the SEC Championship game in 2011, and armed with several all conference veterans on both sides of the ball, head coach Mark Richt says his team is poised to make another run to Atlanta.
"Our guys have been working to have another opportunity to play in that game," Richt told reporters at SEC media days in Birmingham.
Richt will rely on the workload of quarterback Aaron Murray on offense.
Murray is a third year starter for the Bulldogs, and coming off a record-setting season in which he threw for 35 touchdown passes and more than 3000 yards.
On defense, the Bulldogs return two starters with All-American credentials in linebacker Jarvis Jones (13.55 sacks in 2011, best in SEC) and safety Bacarri Rambo (8 interceptions, 2nd best in the country), and five total players made one of the three preseason all-conference rosters.
