Countdown to Kickoff: Miami
Published August 29th, 2012
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Miami Hurricanes have fallen from grace when it comes to the elite college football programs in the country.
Gone are the national championship days of the past, and instead the Canes are trying to rebuild and take back its place as one of the more dominant programs in the state.
Head Coach Al Golden and his 2011 squad fought to a respectable 6-6 record while dealing with the Nevin Shapiro scandal.
The school went as far as self imposing a bowl ban amid an NCAA investigation.
But with 12 starters gone from a year ago, the youth movement in the Golden Era will continue, and the only way to change the perception of the fallen Hurricanes is to prove it against every opponent on the schedule this season.
