Pitt County Wins Babe Ruth Softball World Series

ALACHUA, Fla. - The Babe Ruth Softball World Series started with a record-20 teams, but by Wednesday the number was whittled down to two.
Pitt County (North Carolina) and Lodi (California) battled for the title, and in a double-elimination format the team from the Carolinas won game one 6-5, and completed the sweep with a 6-0 shutout win.
