Vanguard Volleyball Advances, Buchholz Falls In State Semifinals

GAINESVILLE- The Vanguard Knights and Buchholz Bobcats volleyball teams have both had outstanding seasons, but only one will go on to play for a state championship this year.
Vanguard advanced to the class 6A state title game on Wednesday in Kissimmee, outlasting Ft. Myers in five sets 25-22, 19-25, 20-25, 25-22, 15-4.
The Knights will face St. Augustine Wednesday at 4pm for the state championship.
Meanwhile Buchholz lost in five in the class 7A semifinal, falling to Venice 25-20, 20-25, 25-16, 19-25, 10-15.
The Bobcats went 27-6 on the season.
