Fatal Motorcycle Crash
ORMOND BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Florida authorities say a North Carolina man died when a drunk driver drove into his lane and struck his motorcycle.
Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Kim Montes says Barbara Dunn of Chatham, Mass., drove Saturday night into the oncoming lane where Charles Bixler and two other motorcyclists were riding.
The other motorcyclists hit their brakes, veered off the road and overturned. Montes says Dunn drove her van into Bixler. An autopsy was pending for the 64-year-old man from Concord, N.C.
FHP says the other motorcyclists suffered minor injuries. Dunn was not injured.
Dunn was charged with driving under the influence, DUI manslaughter and DUI with property damage. Volusia County jail records Sunday did not show whether Dunn was represented by an attorney.
