Early on Wednesday, the shuttle made the 10 mile trek to NASA's Vehicle Assembly Building.

Early next month, Atlantis will move to its permanent home in a Kennedy Center exhibit where it will allow visitors to get an up-close look at the belly of the shuttle.

The display will be ready for visitors in the summer.
