TALLAHASSEE- The owners of a Tallahassee apartment complex say an overcrowded party contributed to the floor collapsing over the weekend.

A statement from the owners says "the excessive number" of party-goers "cannot be overlooked as a contributing cause of the accident."

Police reports say about 200 people were at the party Saturday night when the floor gave way, injuring 55 people.

City officials say the building is up to code.
