Published February 18th, 2013
In the Everglades, the month long python challenge is over and the victors have been crowned.
More than a thousand people harvested 68 snakes during the competition.
One man captured 18 in total.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission handed out the prizes at a Miami zoo on Saturday.
They also displayed the skins of the some of the harvested snakes.
The largest kill was 14 feet, 3 inches long.
The python challenge was to thin the snake population out because officials say they are invasive and a danger to the rest of the wildlife in the Everglades.
