MARATHON, Fla. (AP) - Deputies in the Florida Keys say a social media application is responsible for several disturbances at a high school.
    
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says students at Marathon High School have been using an application called "Whisper" that allows them to post anonymous comments about one another.
    
The program is designed to provide students an outlet to express their feelings without being judged.
    
In Marathon, deputies say two girls got into a fight and two boys into a separate confrontation over negative posts on the application. No arrests were made but administrative sanctions were issued to several students.
    
Monroe Sheriff Rick Ramsay says parents should be aware of the application and whether their child is using it.
