As a new forecaster to the area, Mike Gismondi is excited to be a part of the TV20 news team as weekend meteorologist and reporter. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Mike graduated from Eastern Illinois University in May 2011. During his time at EIU, he anchored the weather for the EMMY award-winning WEIU Newswatch team.

 

Mike is looking forward to forecasting in a new climate and more than willing to trade in forecasting snow and single digit temperatures, for tracking hurricanes and tropical storms. His interest in weather led Mike to a major in Geography, with minors in Broadcast Meteorology and Earth Sciences.

 

Aside from weather, Mike also has a passion for music and sports.  He enjoys playing guitar and cheering on all his hometown teams including the Chicago Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks and even the Chicago Cubs.
