He already has 2 Oscars, but could Tom Hanks be in the market for a Tony? 

The actor has signed to play a New York City newspaper columnist when he makes his debut on Broadway in the spring.   

Producers of the play "Lucky Guy" announced Thursday that Hanks will play Mike McAlary in the stage biography. 

McAlary, the city's one-time dominant tabloid reporter, who died of cancer just a few months after winning  the Pulitzer Prize.   

Opening night is set for April 1.

Another  Oscar winner is  making news. 

Octavia Spencer who won an Academy Award for "The Help" is looking to a name for herself in the book world.

Spencer has a deal with Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers for a pair of detective novels for middle school students.

The first book, "Randi Rhodes, Ninja Detective: The Case of the Time-Capsule Bandit," will come out next fall.

Spencer said that she had been inspired by such mystery series as Nancy Drew and Encyclopedia Brown and hoped to give kids the same "sense of magic."

3 years ago Elvis' daughter Lisa Marie Presley left her Los Angeles home for the UK seeking inspiration. 

Apparently she found it. 

The 44-year singer hooked up with three British musicians and wound up writing 30 says for her new album.

She says that "Storm and Grace" despite being produced in the UK  still has an American blues sound.

Presley:  I think everyone who I was writing with also loves Americana music and roots, real music.

Presley thinks her dad would be proud.
