In "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," the wizard Gandalf sends the reluctant Bilbo Baggins on a quest.
He travels with a troop of dwarves through middle earth to reclaim a lost kingdom.
Their adventure takes them through treacherous terrain and pits them against dangerous enemies, including goblins, sorcerers and a dragon.
Along the way, Baggins encounter Gollum, and acquires his powerful ring, which will forever change his life.
This is first in a trilogy of films from Peter Jackson adapting the J.R.R. Tolkien classic.
"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" is Rated PG-13.
