It was Hollywood on the Potomac Wednesday. First lawmakers got to hear from super hyphenate Ben Affleck.
The "Argo" actor-director lent his star power to the desperate humanitarian situation in Congo.
Affleck founded a nonprofit organization that helps direct aid to the war-torn region.
Ben Affleck: "It is a place where people are suffering and we can do better."
Later in the day, at the invitation of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Steven Spielberg brought the cast and crew of his acclaimed movie "Lincoln" to town for a special screening.
President Obama got a chance to see the movie about his favorite president at the White House last month.
This might be the first time a movie has been shown in the Senate. Of course, much of the action in the film takes place in the House.
Thousands of fans packed a Los Angeles amphitheater to pay tribute to Jenni Rivera.
There were chants of "Jen-ni! Jen-ni!", festive music and speeches in both English and Spanish at the 2 1/2 hour memorial service.
Rivera died in a plane crash on December 9.
Rivera's children were among those who performed next to a red casket covered in white roses. While her memorial was open to the public, her burial will be private.
