French actor, Gerard Depardieu, has been granted Russian citizenship by Vladimir Putin.
Depardieu recently left France, where the tax rate on those earning more than a million euro a year, is expected to rise to 75 percent.
In a statement the actor said, "I am pleased that my request has been accepted. I love your country, Russia, your people, your history, your writers."
Doctor "McDreamy" is moving forward with plans to buy the "Tully's Coffee Chain."
Actor, Patrick Dempsey says his investment team wants to take over the bankrupt chain in Seattle and save hundreds of jobs.
Patrick Dempsey, Actor: "I think some of the players involved in this deal want to take those jobs away, and you're looking at an economy that's rough to get jobs. I went by one of the stores yesterday and the employees are deeply concerned."
Dempsey stars in the ABC drama "Grey's Anatomy" which is based in Seattle.
A deal could close later this month.
"The Impossible" is one of several new movies opening today in theaters nationwide.
Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts star in the family-drama based on the 2004 asian tsunami.
Also in theaters today, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D and the action-thriller "A Dark Truth."
