MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB) - A resident of Marion County is in hot water with the feds who say he tried to mail a handgun to a man in the Virgin Islands.

Court records in Saint Thomas indicate Angel Roberto Martinez of Ocala is facing charges after postal inspectors found a package containing a Glock handgun and ammunition in October.

The package also contained two vacuum sealer machines often used for packaging and sealing drugs.

A grand jury has also charged Martinez and an accomplice with trafficking cocaine.
