BRONSON, Fla. (WCJB) - Levy County residents and visitors can now reserve their COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the Levy County Emergency Department, residents/visitors that are 65 years and older and are interested in receiving the COVID-19 Moderna vaccine can now make a reservation by calling 352-486-5300.

In addition to those individuals that meet the age requirement, front line health care workers and first responders will also receive the vaccine starting on Jan. 5.

Individuals that have requested to receive the vaccine due to age will be required to present identification showing their age, while healthcare workers and first responders will be required to present employee identification.

The county warns that due to heavy call volume, phone lines may be busy. If there is no answer, please wait a few minutes and try again. Individuals can download the consent forms here.

The county also advises people not to call the Levy County Emergency Management, since the vaccination process is handled entirely by the Florida Department of Health, and they are unable to help people sign up for vaccines.
