GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Dan Mullen and company have found success in the NCAA transfer portal once again.

The Gators added some depth at the defensive tackle position with the addition of former Penn State defensive lineman Antonio Shelton announcing his transfer to Florida.

Shelton announced his intentions of leaving the Nittany Lions program on Dec. 23. Florida State, Michigan, Illinois and Arizona State were other schools that joined the mix in trying to attract Shelton to their respective programs; the defender ultimately chose to transfer to Florida.

In four years at Penn State, he amassed 51 total tackles, and 6 sacks. Shelton is a grad transfer and has one year of eligibility left.

Shelton will bring additional depth to a position that will see the losses of Tedarrell Slaton and Kyree Campbell this season.
